Is Candy AI Shorts free to watch?

Episode one ends on a held look and a half-open door. You tap Next and episode two plays straight through. Then a small lock slides over episode three, and you wonder whether the free ride just ended.

It did, but only after a proper taste. Candy AI is free to join, and the first two episodes of every regular series are reported to cost nothing with a free account. From episode 3, you need a Premium plan plus tokens.

So the honest answer to "is Candy AI free?" is "partly, and by design". The free part is a sampler. The paid part is the rest of each story.

Where these facts come from

We use two kinds of source here. Prices and menu details come from Candy's own pages, which we checked on 14 October 2026. The free-episode rule and token costs come from independent reviewers writing in September and October 2026, so treat those as reported and approximate.

What do you actually get for $0 on Candy Shorts?

A free account is the key. Candy shows "Join Free" and "Create Free Account" buttons, and a Login button for everyone else. Once you are in, this is what the free tier covers, as far as we can tell:

• Episodes 1 and 2 of every regular series. Each episode runs under about two minutes, so the free pair is a few minutes of story per series.
• The feed itself. Every series card shows tags, an episode count and a one-line premise, enough to judge a story before you press Play. Filters include All series, New and Spicy.
• A small taste of chat. Reviewers report a low free message cap, and Candy states that Premium makes text messages unlimited.
• Episodes you unlock stay yours. Reviewers say unlocked episodes remain unlocked on your account, though there are no downloads.

One reviewer also says the free episodes play logged out on candyshorts.com. Candy's own pages push you toward a free account, so expect to need one.

What stays locked

Episode 3 onward needs Premium plus tokens. Reviewers report about 12 tokens per episode on regular series and about 30 on creator series. The free-first-two rule is described for regular series, so check a creator series card before you assume it applies there.

Premium also carries the extras on Candy's plans page: unlimited text messages, your own AI girlfriend characters, and 18+ image and video generation.

Is there a Candy AI free trial or a trial code?

A friend texts you a link: "free tokens, no card needed." You can feel the little alarm go off before you even tap.

Nothing we verified points to an official free trial or a promo-code system. What exists is the free tier above, plus a cheaper first month on the 1-month plan: $9.99 for the first month, then $13.99 a month, at the time of writing (October 2026). That is a discount, not a trial.

How to spot a trial-code trap

• Pages promising "Candy AI free trial code" or "free tokens generator" are bait. They tend to end at a survey, a card form or a download.
• Real prices live on candy.ai/subscriptions. If a deal does not appear there, it is not Candy's deal.

What is the smartest free-first way to use Candy Shorts?

Treat the free tier like a tasting menu. With Candy AI shorts free for the first two episodes of every regular series, the clever move is to sample widely before you spend anything on one story.

1. Open the Shorts tab in Candy's main menu, or go to candy.ai/candy-shorts.
2. Read the premise line and the episode count. Most series have 5 episodes, a few run longer, up to about 34.
3. Watch episodes 1 and 2 of four or five series. That is under 20 minutes of viewing, at no cost.
4. Notice which cliffhanger bugs you most. The one you are still thinking about an hour later is the one to unlock.

The maths backs this up. A typical 5-episode series has 3 locked episodes, and at about 12 tokens each that is roughly 36 tokens to finish. Premium includes 100 tokens a month, which covers about two or three typical series. You will not run out of free sampling, but tokens are finite, so spend them where the hook landed.

What is the cheapest way to go beyond the free episodes?

Beyond episode 2, the entry ticket is a Premium plan. At the time of writing (October 2026), Candy's plans page showed these prices:

• 12 months: $3.99 a month, billed $47.88 per year. Candy labels it "Best value" and shows it as 70% off a $13.99 list price.
• 3 months: $8.99 a month, billed $26.97 per quarter.
• 1 month: $9.99 for the first month, then $13.99 a month.

Shorter billing options, every 2 weeks at $9.79 and weekly at $5.60, also appear at checkout.

Cheapest per month versus cheapest to try

The annual plan has the lowest monthly rate, but it costs $47.88 up front and renews automatically for the same price and term. If you only want to find out whether a series is worth finishing, the 1-month plan at $9.99 puts less money on the line. Candy says you can cancel any time in settings.

Are "free full episode" sites worth the click?

Short answer: no. The pages that promise every episode free tend to be copies of the same two free episodes, screen recordings of paid ones, or something worse. Reviewers describe many "free full episode" sites as spam, scam gates or malware traps, including fake "verify your age" forms that want a card number.

Candy's terms allow personal, non-commercial use and prohibit reposting, so uploads of paid episodes are not a stable or safe source anyway. We will not point you to any of them.
